Monecia R. Thomas, PhD, MHA

Dr. Thomas leads initiatives that advance clinician well-being and professional growth through the NCCPRW and the NC Medical Society Foundation’s KIPL Academy for Healthcare Leaders programs. She brings extensive experience from leadership roles at UNC Health, the UNC School of Medicine, local public health departments, and the NC institute for Public Health. She holds degrees from NC State University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and North Carolina A&T State University.

Lisa oversees programs that strengthen clinician retention, resilience, and well-being across North Carolina. She previously served in global leadership roles at the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs and UNC-Chapel Hill, leading knowledge management, learning, and capacity-strengthening initiatives in more than 45 countries. She holds an MPH from Case Western Reserve University and a BA from the College of Wooster.

Our Board of Directors

The NCCPRW Board of Directors provides strategic guidance and governance to advance the Consortium’s mission of improving clinician and physician well-being across North Carolina. This dedicated group of leaders works closely with the NCCPRW team to shape organizational priorities, strengthen partnerships, and ensure alignment with statewide efforts to create healthier, more sustainable healthcare environments.

The Board is composed of seven members, representing key organizations committed to clinician well-being and workforce sustainability.
